Summer Games, Indoors and Out

In many parts of the world, our athletes with intellectual disabilities are competing in summer games.
Special Olympics athlete Adriana Newton of Puerto Rico has won gold medals in freestyle and butterfly.

Why Support Special Olympics

Your gift will change the lives of our athletes with intellectual disabilities, like bowler Beau Dail.
Dail, of Spotsylvania, Virginia, USA, competed in the Virginia State Summer Games.

Volunteers Make Special Olympics Happen

Volunteers are at the core of what Special Olympics does, and they make every event happen.
Brittnay Bazemore and other Finish Line employees gave sports skills test to Special Olympics athletes.

For Decades, A Focused Mission

The history of Special Olympics charts growth from a backyard sports camp to a worldwide movement of millions.
Special Olympics athlete Li Hang Zhang of China at the 2013 World Winter Games in PyeongChang, Republic of Korea.

Who We Are

Special Olympics is more than 4 million athletes with intellectual disabilities around the world plus families, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and celebrities supporting us every day.
