Did You Know?
Health-care professionals able and willing to treat patients with intellectual disabilities can list themselves in the Special Olympics Provider Directory. On average, in the United States, a person with an intellectual disability would have to contact 50 doctors before finding one who has training and experience to treat him/her.

Conquering Kilimanjaro

Slovenia Hosts Successful Cross Country and Snowshoeing Tournament

No One Dies from Dental Decay, Do They?

Special Olympics research reveals that 35% of Special Olympics athletes have obvious tooth decay in their molar teeth, up to 50% have obvious gum infections, 12% report being in pain at the time of the exam and 15% require urgent care.WASHINGTON, DC 13 MAR. Deamonte Driver's story, featured in the 28 February "Washington Post," is sounding an alarm that health-care gaps among the most underserved populations have serious implications.
