Starwood Hotels & Resorts will donate US$50 to Special Olympics, up to US$150,000, for every bed sold through 30 June 2007.

 

Did You Know?
The Special Olympics movement grew by 12 percent from 2005 to 2006 and now serves 2.5 million athletes worldwide. Also, there are nearly 200,000 Special Olympics coaches providing sports training to athletes.

Athens, Greece to Host 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games

The Acropolis, Athens, GreeceWASHINGTON, DC 5 JUNE 2007 Special Olympics International has announced that Athens, Greece, will be the host city for the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games. The decision came during today's meeting of the Special Olympics International Board of Directors. The 2011 World Summer Games are expected to draw more than 7,000 athletes from nearly 170 countries, as well as tens of thousands of volunteers, event officials, coaches, families, spectators and journalists from around the world. . . read more

Special Olympics Bharat Receives Grant for 2007 World Summer Games
