A Meeting in Colima

The parents of Special Olympics Colima were called to an ordinary meeting that took place on March 3rd in the boardroom of Colima Institute of Sport "INCODE".View Story The parents of Special Olympics Colima were called to an ordinary meeting that took place on March 3rd in the boardroom of Colima Institute of Sport "INCODE". The event was to present the Revenue and Expenditure report of 2013. Participants where was informed of the benefits obtained and the expenses made, as well as sports, civic and cultural activities. The swearing in of the new policy was also conducted by the athlete Julio Cesar Luis Rodríguez, finishing the event with a small fellowship, thanking all attendees.

Ternium Race in Colima

Athletes and parents participated in TERNIUM, Colima 3 KM race. Where they ran with enthusiasm and a desire to win that characterizes Special Olympics.View Story Athletes and parents participated in TERNIUM, Colima 3 KM race. Where they ran with enthusiasm and a desire to win that characterizes Special Olympics. It was a family atmosphere, where our athletes are able to demonstrate that this type of event help them try to reach the top twenty places and obtain participation medals.

Events in Veracruz

Se llevó una convivencia deportiva con Atletas de la Dirección General de Educación Física el día 21 de Marzo de 2014.View Story A sport event was held with athletes from the Department of Physical Education on March 21, 2014. In the Veracruz establishment of Benemerita Escuela Normal "Enrique C. Rebsamen"  Special Olympics athletes were trained for the National Games in August 2014. The sport meet with students of telesecundaria Nicolas Bravo, was to provide and create more and better cultural awareness for people with disabilities.

Special Olympics Colima’s Celebrates in Grand Style!

Sunday 29 March 2014, athletes and Special Olympics Colima parents participated in a breakfast in the green room of the Town Hall of Villa de Alvarez.View Story Sunday 29 March 2014, athletes and Special Olympics Colima parents participated in a breakfast in the green room of the Town Hall of Villa de Alvarez, where the Mayor Enrique Roja Orozco gave recognition to athletes with intellectual disabilities who have excelled in international events. Martha Gutierrez Karina Castellanos, Marco Tulio Carrillo Macías, Luis Cuevas Hector Ruiz, as well as Maestro Osciel Cruz Leyva were recognized for their achievements and years of service within Special Olympics Colima, I thanked the Mayor for this gesture of support and recognize the career of our athletes and our coach. The mayor stated that in the month of August we will have our very interesting national games and wished us success. With these recognitions athletes with intellectual disabilities are able to increase their self-esteem and set new targets for themselves.

Healthy Athletes Clinic - Paraguay

Special Olympics Paraguay´s Healthy Athletes Clinic will receive and estimate of 800 athletes from Special Education Institutions and Sports Club of the capital city Asunción. The Healthy Athletes Clinic will offer health screenings to the athletes in the areas of: MedFest (sports physical exam), Fit Feet (podiatry), Opening Eyes (vision) and Health Promotion (better health and well-being).
