    The Rio Grande Valley Area will host its annual Spring Games on April 29 - 30, 2016 at Weslaco High School Bobby Lackey Stadium. Opening Ceremonies will be at 9:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 30, 2016 with competition immediately afterwards. Competition will begin on Friday at 10:00 a.m. and will end on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

    2016 MATP Challenge Day: Conroe ISD

    Conroe ISD is hosting their Motor Activities Training Program (MATP), which is designed specifically for athletes who are unable to participate in traditional Special Olympics sports. It was created to enhance individuals' motor skills, sports skills and physical fitness. After the eight-week training program is completed, a Challenge Day is offered that meets the needs of every participant and lets the athlete share his/her developed skills with family and friends. Participants are awarded based on participation, not place. Instead of competitions, there are skill stations where athletes are given the opportunity to demonstrate their personal best. The eligibility criteria to participate in MATP is as follows: An individual with severe or profound intellectual disabilities; Ages 3 and above; ndividuals who are unable to participate in traditional Special Olympics sports.
