How Broadcasters Can Cover Our World Games

junio 17, 2011

For Immediate Release

We need the support of broadcasters worldwide to showcase the power of Special Olympics and our athletes to a global audience.  Regardless of whether you can join us on-site in Athens for Special Olympics World Summer Games ATHENS 2011, you can still access video footage of our Games. In order to help share the video content from World Games to as many viewers as possible, the Games official host broadcaster, ERT (of Greece), will be distributing a daily satellite feed via the European Broadcast Union.

This footage will be made available to any broadcaster, without any charge for rights fees, except for the EBU’s standard technical transmission fees (*contact EBU for details, see below).

The Opening and Closing ceremonies will be broadcast live in addition to the daily one-hour highlight feeds, as listed below. Note that Special Olympics has arranged the following rights’ holding broadcast arrangements: USA: ESPN3.com holds exclusive rights to the live Opening and Closing ceremonies feed within the U.S.

For other global broadcasters who are interested in picking up the satellite feeds, please complete the EBU booking form (login required).

Please also notify Mandy Murphy at Special Olympics: mamurphy@specialolympics.org to confirm your interest in this footage.
