Unified Track Team and Student Council is beginning their campaign to Stop the R-Word and for the whole school to pledge to end the word.
We have begun putting up flyers and we will continue this with more flyers, posters, and PSA's for the whole month of March leading up to Autism Awareness month.
For nine days, Panama and the world will witness an unparalleled event where determination, skill, the joy of sport and inclusion will make history. From April 20 to 28, 2017, more than 800 athletes and 200 coaches from Latin America will gather to compete in the III Latin American Special Olympics Games 2017.
The North Central Regional Basketball Tournament will be held at Shawnee Heights High School

The Unified Volleyball Tournament will be held at Bryant University in Rhode Island on Saturday, May 6th from 10am - 3pm. 200 athletes and partners will be participating in this fun sporting event!
The Unified Soccer Tournament will be held at Bonner Springs High School, 100 McDanield St, Bonner Springs, KS. The Tournament will begin at 9:00am. The Kansas Unified Sports League will host its culminatng soccer tournament of the season. Area high schools, middle schools and adult will compete against teams of similar ability in tournament-style competition. Teams are composed of Special Olympics athletes and volunteer partners who practice and compete together to enhance their skills and form friendships.
200 athletes and unified partners from 10 schools will participate in The Unified Champion High School Basketball Finals on Sunday, May 7th at Bishop Hendricken High School beginning at 12pm.
Soccer tournament featuring over a dozen Unified soccer teams from across the state of Oregon.
Unified softball tournament featuring 6 teams representing their high schools.
Mt. Vernon schools is celebrating Unified Champions with three Field Days in May! Unified Champions is an inclusive event designed for all Mt. Vernon students to be able to participate regardless of athletic, intellectual, ambulatory, or functional abilities. All three events will be lots of fun for all students and parent volunteers!

The 2017 Summer Games will feature competition in Athletics, Basketball, Cycling, Gymnastics and Tennis for more than 3,000 Texas athletes.
Join us on May 25th at Collins Perley Sports and Fitness Center in Saint Albans, Vermont as our athletes Play Unified Bocce. It's an opportunity for people with and without intellectual disabilities to join together in bocce competition. Come witness the power of sports!
On a Unified Track and Field team, students with and without intellectual disabilities compete alongside each. Each team members competes in one field event, one track event and one relay. Competition divisions are based on similar ability levels to ensure meaningful involvement.
By providing opportunities for students both with all types of disabilities and without disabilities to participate in sports meaningfully and by engaging other students in the school community, Interscholastic Unified Sports (IUS) helps promote inclusion, acceptance, and respect.
The Special Olympics Interscholastic Unified Sports program is supported by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) and the Bureau of Special Education, Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The State Summer Games will be held Friday, June 2nd, through Sunday June 4th at the University of Rhode Island. Over 1,500 athletes will be participating in sports over the course of this most anticipated weekend-long sporting event of the year! Sports that will be offered include: Track & Field, Swimming, Cycling, Bowling, Powerlifting, Soccer & Motor Activities Training Program.
Markgraf Sport and Leadership Academy is a multifaceted camp for girls using soccer, theater, mindfulness, and yoga to stretch participants’ comfort zones and equip them with the tools to overcome challenges. MSLA’s goal is build empowered leaders who are allies to the greater community. Special Olympics Wisconsin has been offered the unique opportunity in which SOWI athletes will be placed on a MSLA camper’s team. The new unified team will compete in small-sided soccer games and track events.
Registration: Because the age limit of the camp, we are restricting participation to athletes 8-14 only; Athletes must have valid medicals on file; There are only a limited number of spots and registration will close once we reach that limit.
The 2017 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games is taking place in Medicine Hat from July 7 to 9. Medicine Hat will host the largest Provincial Summer Games with over 1,200 athletes and coaches from across the province. Athletes will compete in 11 summer sports: 5 and 10 pin bowling, athletics, basketball, bocce, golf, powerlifting, rhythmic gymnastics, soccer, softball and swimming.
From the 10-12 July 2017, the Special Olympics Nordrhein-Westfalen Regional Games will be hosted in Neuss near the river Rhine. About 1000 athletes are expected to compete in 12 different of sports (athletics, badminton, basketball, bocce, equestrian, football, golf, judo, roller skating, swimming, and table tennis). There will also be a big opening ceremony, 4 healthy athletes disciplines (Fit Feet, Health Promotion, Fun Fitness and Strong Minds) and MATP. It will be lots of fun! So, if you are nearby, come around and enjoy the games with us!
Join us July 10-13 in Atlanta, Georgia as athletes across the state compete in Athletics and Bocce competition.
There will be a Healthy Athletes Clinic happening at the Danang International Marathon in Biendong Park, Danang City, Vietnam on Sunday morning.
The Garden State Unified Golf Classic is an 18-hole golf tournament to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey. This inaugural event will benefit the over 25,000 Special Olympics New Jersey athletes who compete year-round in more than 260 competition events across 24 Olympic-type sports, as well as provide health programs, leadership opportunities and Unified programs–all completely free of charge. Our Special Olympics athletes will be playing alongside many of the golfers during the course of this tournament.
We are expecting 200 athletes and Unified partners to participate in our 2nd State Bocce Tournament. Over 300 athletes are expected to participate in our State Softball Tournament. Teams will compete in traditional team slow-pitch, Unified slow-pitch and t-ball competition over this two day tournament.
One More Tri, the only unified triathlon in the state, embraces the idea that sports can unify all of us. It's more than a race - it’s a Unified Triathlon Experience where triathletes of all skill levels compete side-by-side with Special Olympics athletes. This race is inspired by a simple principle: the act of competing together ensures a quick path to understanding, acceptance, and friendship. All proceeds support Special Olympics New Jersey, a non-profit organization that provides free year-round sports training and athletic competition in 24 Olympic-type sports for more than 25,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities.
This is an event for all Areas. Male and female athletes from across the state. Join us October 20-22 at Pelican Park and Robicheaux Center in Carencro, Louisiana as our athletes compete and show their skill in aquatics, horseshoes, and softball competition. This will be our 13th State Unified Tournament. We are expecting 300 bowlers to participate in doubles and team events.
