Hilton HHonors™, the guest loyalty program for the 10 distinct brands of Hilton Worldwide, is proud to be the official hotel sponsor of the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea and of Special Olympics International through 2014.
History of Support
To support Special Olympics and its mission, Hilton HHonors will make an annual financial contribution, donate 225 million Hilton HHonors points to the organization over three years, and provide discounted accommodations to Special Olympics constituents attending events such as the World Games. Also through the exclusive partnership, HHonors members may donate Hilton HHonors points which will be converted into a cash donation to the organization. Taking the partnership one step further, HHonors has also encouraged Hilton Worldwide team members to "Dare to Dream Big" by getting involved in the movement, volunteering their time, and signing the R-word pledge.
HHonors has also partnered with noted photographer Richard Corman to showcase the athletes and the Special Olympics movement via a travelling photo exhibit, titled "Celebrating Special Olympics." Unveiled in Athens at the start of the World Summer Games 2011, the exhibit will travel to Hilton Worldwide properties in the United States and abroad. Upon completion of the tour, the photos will be auctioned off with all proceeds benefitting Special Olympics.
"Joining the Special Olympics movement allows Hilton Worldwide to act on our vision to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality," said Paul Brown, President of Global Brands and Commercial Services. "It also builds on the actions of company founder Conrad Hilton, whose spirit of generosity and belief that travel and hospitality could be powerful tools to bridge cultures continues to drive our actions as a company today."
