To Wear The Laces is simple: purchase special red shoe laces with the Special Olympics logo emblazoned on them. Take out your old boring laces, thread in the new ones, and show you are a fan and supporter of Special Olympics sport programs for people with intellectual disabilities.

The Aim of the Campaign
You will show you believe in acceptance, respect, inclusion and human dignity. The aim of the “Wear the Laces” campaign is to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics internationally. The symbolic aim of the project is to get people to walk side by side, tied together by a common thread of respect and inclusion.

YOU and the Laces
When YOU ‘Wear the Laces’ YOU are making it possible for the Special Olympics movement to transform more lives through the power of sport. And you declare that YOU are a fan of dignity and inclusion.

The “Wear the Laces” Campaign launched in eight European countries in September 2010 and has seen Laces been sold right across the globe.

When you lace up, you'll join many others who've done so: Padraig Harrington  (3 Time Golf Major Winner), the Italian national rugby team, Euroleague Basketball Teams, top pro cyclists Andy and Frank Schleck , rock group The Script and many Special Olympic athletes across the world.

“I hope by wearing the Laces for Special Olympics I will not only raise awareness moment but also I will show my support for the athletes, families and volunteers who are the heartbeat of Special Olympics”. Padraig Harrington – Special Olympics Global Ambassador:
