13 newly elected Special Olympics Sports Advisors meet in Warsaw

The first ever Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia Sport Advisors’ Seminar has taken place in Warsaw, Poland.

The seminar, involving 13 recently elected Advisors, took place from February 24 until February 26th.

Special Olympics Sport Advisors are elected after each Summer or Winter World Games.

The following sports were represented at the February Seminar: Athletics, Swimming, Football, Basketball, Equestrian, Judo, Kayaking, Table Tennis, Volleyball and Gymnastics.

The Seminar focused on a number of issues including good governance; procedural processes; and competition regulations. The attendees also received specialised ‘Technical Delegate’ training for SO competitions. This was the first managerial seminar of its kind for Sports Advisors in the SOEE region.
