Thanks to the support of UEFA, Special Olympics Hungary hosted in Budapest from May 5-7 an international seminar on how to get more young girls and women involved in Unified Football in 2012 and beyond.

16 participants including coaches and program leaders from Hungary, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Moldova attended the seamier which focused on two key subjects: discussing strategies to expand and develop further the existing female Unified Football program in Hungary and sharing best practice with those responsible for growing female Unified Football in their respective country.
One session was dedicated to building up partnerships with football federation and other institutional partners to make Unified Football a long term sustainable successful.

Participants heard from an impressive line-up of speakers including: Mr Janos Hrutka, former Hungarian National football team player and Vice President of SO Hungary, Ms Ibolya Petrika a member of the department of female football at the Hungarian Football Association, Ms Laszlone Kiss, former Hungarian National football team player and football coach, as well as Mr Andras Telek, former Hungarian national football team player and head coach of the female Hungarian National football team. Each shared their own perspectives, experience and plans for growing female Unified Football.

According to Irina Jeleascova, 24, from Moldova who participated in the seminar: “This seminar was hugely important for us. We shared a lot of new ideas that will help us to implement female Unified Football in our country! And we made lots of new friends now and our enthusiasm and excitement have been heightened- which is also very important!”
