Volunteer or Cheer!
There's no better way to experience the joy and power of Special Olympics than by seeing it first-hand and we've got two ways you can be part of the action!
Volunteers
Volunteers are the backbone of Special Olympics and the SONA Golf Invitational Tournament needs volunteers, in an away of roles, to help make it a success!
Golf knowledge is a plus, but not a must. Individuals and groups are welcome. All volunteers will be trained and scheduled by the Games Organizing Committee and all volunteers will receive a Tournament volunteer shirt and meal, depending on shift time(s).
It is very hot in Arizona in September, so please make sure you are in good health, capable of being in the heat for several hours, before signing up to volunteer.
While not required, we do encourage volunteers to take Special Olympics'
online Protective Behaviors training so that everyone can play an active role in maintaining a safe and healthy Tournament experience for our athletes.
Fans in the Stands (Gallery, actually)
Every athlete loves to be cheered on. If you live in the Phoenix area, come on out to
Wigwam Resort course to cheer on our athletes! The event is free and open to the public.
Note: golf carts will not be provided for spectators or family members.
