Tennis is a popular sport played at all levels of skill and by players of all ages. Every athlete aims in passing the ball to the opponent's side of the net, striking it with a tennis racquet. The sport emphasizes values, such as fair play, sportsmanship and respect for fellow competitors. Tennis is not only fun to play, but it is a lifetime sport activity that is fun to practice and fun to learn.

Fall Sports Fest

Join us on 10 October 2014 for our annual Fall Sports Festival in Emmitsburg, Maryland as athletes and Unified partners from around the state will compete in various sports competitions. Events will include: Cycling – 500m time trial, 1k time trial, 2k time trial, 5k road race, 10k road race; Flag Football – traditional team competition, Unified team competition, individual skills competition; Long Distance Running – Traditional 800m run/walk, traditional 1500m run/walk, Unified 1500m run/walk, 3k race, 5k race, 10k race; Power Lifting – bench Press, dead Lift, combination (bench Press and dead lift); Tennis – individual skills competition, traditional singles, traditional doubles – level 2 and level 5, Unified doubles competition – level 2 and level 5. Special Olympics Nippon National Summer Games Fukuoka 2014

Athletes from all over Japan will come to the city of Fukuoka for the 2014 Special Olympics Fukuoka Games to participate in 3 days of competition in 12 sports. Athletes will compete in aquatics, athletics, badminton, basketball, bowling, football, golf, gymnastics, table tennis, volleyball and equestrian.

"Más que Tenis" Fundación Rafa Nadal National Tennis Meeting

Join us on 7-9 November at the Son Moix Sports Center in Palma de Mallorca, where Special Olympics tennis players will enjoy 3 days of tennis, companionship and fun. In 2010, Fundación Rafa Nadal and Special Olympics Spain created the first tennis schools to make tennis more accessible to Special Olympics athletes. Today, there are 15 schools in 6 Regions, where almost 150 athletes train and play twice a week.

World Summer Games Los Angeles 2015

In July of 2015 more than 7,000 athletes from 170 countries will come to Los Angeles, California for the Special Olympics World Summer Games and enjoy 10 days full of joy, friendship and competition. Athletes will compete in 22 sports. The event expects to attract 500,000 spectators and 30,000 volunteers and 3,000 coaches.
