Bocce is an Italian game. The basic principle of the sport is to roll a bocce ball closest to the target ball, which is called a pallina. Booce as a Special Olympics sport provides people with special needs the opportunity to have social contact, develop physically and to gain self-confidence. Next to soccer and golf, bocce is the third most participated sport in the world.

Special Olympics South Africa Unified® Sports Day

Special Olympics South Africa together with the Bona Lesedi Disability project and the South Africa National Equestrian Schools Association hosted a Unified® Sports day at Shumbashaba.View Story Special Olympics South Africa together with the Bona Lesedi Disability project and the South Africa National Equestrian Schools Association hosted a Unified® Sports day at Shumbashaba. An opening ceremony was conducted with athletes parading in the sporting arena after which they participated in Bocce, 7-aside soccer and volley ball. Over 100 athletes participated in the event enthusiastically supported by willing volunteers. This event truly captured the spirit of unity and inclusion and all the athletes were thrilled with their medals. The closing ceremony was completed with a friendship circle and smiles all round.

Olimpiadas Especiales México Veracruz presente en las actividades conmemorativas del Tercer Aniversario del Centro de Rehabilitacion de Educacion Especiales de Veracruz.En donde el pasado Jueves 11 de Julio de 2013. Se llevó a cabo una demostración de bochas posteriormente se realizó un encuentro amView Story Olimpiadas Especiales México Veracruz presente en las actividades conmemorativas del Tercer Aniversario del Centro de Rehabilitacion de Educacion Especiales de Veracruz.En donde el pasado Jueves 11 de Julio de 2013. Se llevó a cabo una demostración de bochas posteriormente se realizó un encuentro amistoso de esta disciplina deportiva entre deportistas del CREEVER y Atletas de Olimpiadas Especiales Veracruz. Participaron público en general, voluntarios, entrenadores y personal de la oficina de Olimpiadas Especiales

Unified Sports® provides a means which brings together students with and without disabilities in a fulfilling inclusion experience. Special Olympics Florida’s Summer Games are the largest event on the calendar with athletes competing in athletics (track & field), bocce, cycling, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. 2014 Michigan State Summer Games

Join more than 2,600 Special Olympics athletes and 3,400 coaches, volunteers, chaperons, family members, volunteers and spectators at the 2014 Special Olympics Michigan State Summer Games. Opening Ceremonies are Thursday, May 29 with the Games running through Saturday, May 31. Ten types of competition are offered at the State Summer Games each year, including aquatics, athletics, bocce, bowling, gymnastics, horseshoes, powerlifting, weightlifting, volleyball, developmental athletics and motor activities training program. Athletes compete in State Summer Games after qualifying at local competitions throughout the year.

2014 USA National Games

The USA National Games be centered in and around Princeton and the Greater Mercer County area. Venues will include Princeton University, Rider University, The College of New Jersey, and Mercer County Park. The New Jersey Devils have offered The Prudential Center as the venue for the Opening Ceremonies. The National Games will feature nearly 3,500 athletes competing in 14 Olympic-style sports, with the support of 1,000 coaches, 8,000 volunteers and an estimated 50,000 family, friends and spectators. Non-competitive special events will include the Final Leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run™ that will symbolize the start of the competition and Healthy Athletes, a place where the athletes can get vital health screenings. Youth and education events will also be held in conjunction with the Games as young leaders rally around making change for the better of the Special Olympics movement and promoting acceptance of those with intellectual disabilities.

Special Olympics National Games 2014 Melbourne

The 10th Special Olympics Australia National Games will involve more than 1,200 athletes of all levels competing in 16 Olympic and demonstration sports and events. These Games offer the opportunity for athletes to be selected to represent Australia at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles in 2015. For the majority of competitors, the National Games in Melbourne represents the culmination of four years of competing at local, regional and state level. Competing in the same world-class venues as their Olympic heroes, our Special Olympics athletes will perform in front of their proud parents, friends, supporters and the wider community.
