The Special Olympics Motor Activity Training Program is designed for athletes with severe or profound intellectual disability who are unable to particpate in Official Special Olympics sport competitions because of their skill and/or functional abilities. The Motor Activity Training Program is designed to prepare athletes with severe or profound intellectual disability, including athletes with significant physical disabilities, for sport-specific activities appropriate for their abilities.

Young Athletes Program - Springfield

Join us on April 22 at Campbell Elementary in Springfield, Missouri for a great opportunity for your young athletes to get an idea of the fun they can have with Special Olympics. We are offering a unique five week motor skills development program for children with intellectual disabilities ages 3-7. Children will practice running, jumping, catching and much more! 2014 Michigan State Summer Games

Join more than 2,600 Special Olympics athletes and 3,400 coaches, volunteers, chaperons, family members, volunteers and spectators at the 2014 Special Olympics Michigan State Summer Games. Opening Ceremonies are Thursday, May 29 with the Games running through Saturday, May 31. Ten types of competition are offered at the State Summer Games each year, including aquatics, athletics, bocce, bowling, gymnastics, horseshoes, powerlifting, weightlifting, volleyball, developmental athletics and motor activities training program. Athletes compete in State Summer Games after qualifying at local competitions throughout the year.

2014 Special Olympics European/Eurasian Summer Games

In September 2014 more than 2,000 athletes from 58 countries will come to Antwerp, Belgium for the 2014 Special Olympics European/Eurasian Summer Games and enjoy 13 days full of joy and friendship. The athletes will compete in 11 sports and be invited to join 5 supporting programs.
