Evangelista oversees Program operations in over 50 countries in Europe Eurasia, providing strategic direction, engagement with governments and the private sector to raise awareness and gain support. He also leads fund-raising efforts for the region. 

Evangelista has served in a variety of strategic and programmatic capacities with Special Olympics including as Vice President of Global Development and Government Relations, creating and sustaining national and multinational partnerships and strategies. As an instrumental team member for the Healthy Athletes program, he developed and managed key relationships such as Lions Clubs International and UNICEF. 

As a child, Evangelista witnessed the creation of Special Olympics Rhode Island, which was founded by his father in 1975. he also serves as a huge fan of his nephew, Dylan Needham, who participates in variety of sports and activities with Special Olympics Rhode Island. 

Evangelista has a B.A. degree in International Relations from the School of International Service at American University in Washington, DC and a Master’s degree in International Business from the IESIDE Business Institute in Vigo, Spain. He currently resides in Vigo, Spain with his wife, Carmen and two sons, Jon and Paul.
