A Father takes the lead!!

By a personal initiative carried by Mohammed Al Sharah, father of 2 persons with ID, a EKS celebration act was achieved for the 1st time in Kuwait. Families were gathered with their children in remembrance of Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver legacy. Volunteers did their best to bring a smile to all faces. Families’ expectations are always to broaden the circle of friends around their kids so to feel really accepted and respected in their own community.

About Mohammed Al Sharah: I have 2 children with Intellectual Disabilities. The problem lies in the lack of the community support. Most of the support comes from the family members. In accordance, Louloua’s behavior improved. She does math, speaks 2 languages, excels at art work and is a happy child. All initiatives in Kuwait come from parents. As parents we become competent, we see the positive side of our kid’ story. Having children with Intellectual Disabilities in the family, I have changed my educational course to cover Special Education;
