Special Olympians meet Fairfax Sheriff's Deputies

By Robert Peres

Torch Run fundraiser at Red Robin, Chantilly, VA

Skye (12) and Sheridan Marsili (18), Special Olympics athletes since early childhood, greeted Fairfax County Sheriff's Deputies at Red Robin in Chantlly today and got friendly with police dog "Rita"" an explosive sniffing K-9 squad veteran. Skye ans Sheridan also chatted with Frank, who wore a Torch Run T-shirt and was part of today's fundraising efforts. Skye and Sheridan have been active in Fairfax County Virginia Special Olympics and are enrolled in basketball (they love coach Jim), track & field, swimming (shout out to Dori Krause), gymnastics (hey Jay Hoffmeier) and soccer. They have learned and benefitted immensely from this experience!!!

About Robert Peres: My wife Tia Marsili and I have 2 daughters with Down syndrome who love being active and enjoying sports with their peers. We have been involved with SO since 2003 in Germany, now here in Virginia.
