The 5th Unified Sports Coach Training for College Students

On December 8th, the fifth Unified Sports coach training for college students was held at Shanghai University of Sports. The whole day training was divided into two parts including theoretical lessons in the morning and Unified basketball practice in the afternoon. Around 100 students from Shanghai University of Sports and 40 Special Olympics athletes participated. Special guests include Special Olympics International President and CEO Tim Shriver, Party Chief of Shanghai University of Sports Mr. Dai Jian, SOEA President and Managing Director Mary Gu attended the activity. As a big fan of basketball, Tim Shriver also joined the Unified competition together with our athletes and partners.

The majority of the volunteer students come from Shanghai University of Sports Special Olympics volunteer club, which is also the 1st and the only one university volunteer club that specialized for Special Olympics movement in China till now.

The activity was ended successfully with the big hit “Gangnam Style”, everyone at the gymnasium danced to the music happily, experienced the joy brought by sports, music, and unity.
