Global Family Leaders meet up with Young Athletes Korean Families

By Ms Simone Attard

Hi I’m Simone from Malta, I am the National Coordinator and parent of a 7 year old son Jeremy who attends the Young Athletes Program. As the New Global Family Leader for Europe/Eurasia I have the honour to attend the WWG 2013 in Korea. It was such a nice experience spending time with the Korean Young Athletes and their families. First at the Convention Centre for the YA Demo and then at Ocean700 where we had lunch with the YA families, then it was time for more surprises as it was fantastic to see the young athletes go in the pool accompanied by a parent to participate in the New Get Wet Program. I was impressed to see the faces of the young boys and girls change into beautiful smiles once they started exercising. This really shows how the YA Program not only helps the children to learn through fun but also helps the parents to interact with the child. I will definitely share this experience back home in Malta.

About Ms Simone Attard: Ms Simone Attard has a Post Graduate Diploma in Family Therapy, and has for the last 12 years worked with several NGO's in Malta and also served as consultant on the Family Field. She has been appointed Global Family Leader for Europe and Eurasia for 2013 - 2015.
