Team West Wins Second Annual NBA Cares Unified Sports game, 55-54

Today was a great day for Special Olympics!

Twelve Special Olympics athletes from all over the world showcased their basketball talents to the world in front of a packed crowd at the 2013 NBA All-Star weekend in Houston, Texas.

Special Olympics athletes showed the unifying power of sport playing alongside NBA and WNBA players and legends. In a competitive game that came down to the wire, Team West pulled together and came up with a 55-54 win over Team East.

“What a game,” said Special Olympics and NBA ambassador Dikembe Mutumbo. “There were so many basketball players on this court better than me today! These Special Olympics athletes come from all over the world and no matter their intellectual disabilities they show that we are all unified when we step on a basketball court.”

Check out the photos at the link below. Special Olympics athletes came from China, Italy, Namibia, Puerto Rico and the United States.
