The Tricolor Celebrates Special Olympics Athletes Ecuador

By Nicolas Cueva

Athletes paraded before the game. It was an emotional moment.

To commemorate the World Down Syndrome Day, on March 21, during the game between Ecuador and El Salvador,100 Special Olympics athletes paraded in Atahualpa Olympic Stadium just before starting the game, and were also invited by the ETF as special guests. Simultaneously, the Special Olympics athletes gave a lap with a banner whose caption read: "THANKS Tricolor", the audience applauded the tireless group of fighters. Something that was also emotional was that the team players also encourage special athletes who attended in the middle of their warm up. This activity adds to the unconditional support the Tricolor has given to Special Olympics. They are the only team in the world that uses the Special Olympics mark for social activities.
