Local family inspires corporate engagement

By Katie Botha

The Hall family and members of Team Virginia Natural Gas pose with the big million dollar check at this year's Polar Plunge event.

Many people feel their work colleagues are an extension of their family, but none more so than the Hall family of Virginia Beach. Each year, parents Chris and Jennifer and their two children Chloe and Gavin (a Special Olympics athlete) are joined by several dozen employees and friends from Virginia Natural Gas as they participate in the annual Polar Plunge Winter Festival. Chris Hall is a longtime employee of Virginia Natural Gas and a longtime volunteer for Special Olympics Virginia. In addition to being an amazing father, VNG employee and Special Olympics volunteer, Chris spends more time on the beach than any other fan of the festival. As a key member of the Polar Plunge Event Committee, Chris oversees beach and boardwalk logistics to ensure the 10,000 person event is fun, safe and successful in raising critical funds for Virginia's 11,000+ Special Olympics athletes.
