First Vision, Dental Screening Ever for Athlete from Nigeria

By Karl Hejlik

Thanks to the 2013 Family Support Health Forum held March 9 at the Wesley School for the Hearing Impaired Children in Surulere, Lagos, thirteen-year-old Yusuf Olaleye received free sunglasses and a dental exam - the first time in his life he had ever seen a dentist or eye care professional. "I am very grateful," his mother said. Mrs. Olaleye also said she benefited greatly from the nutrition information provided at the forum. “I learned a lot about food and diet, and discovered things I never knew before. I got to know that as parents we are not to force our children to eat just anything. We must ensure a good, balanced diet in all their meals,” she said.
