Athlete Portrait: 2013 Torch Runner Yu Nianlin Lafael Liu | مايو 17, 2013 | East Asia: China Being selected as 1 of the 8 torch runners at 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games in PyeongChang, Republic of Korea, was such an important honor that it made Yu Nianlin felt on top of the world. Born in 1996, little Nianlin is a cute girl, and also a Special Olympics figure skating athlete. She is very optimistic and always influences the people around with positive energy. Even when she falls on ground during figure skating practice, the painful look usually only last no more than 5 seconds before a big smile appears on her face again. When Nianlin was asked what is the biggest challenge she has had to overcome. She said: "The Weight Control has always been my biggest challenge in my daily life. But, in order to complete in the jumping action when I play figure skating, I know I have to decrease my desire for snacks. I have to try my best to do that and I will."
