European Football Week is about Partnership in Bosnia and Herzegovina

By Maureen Rabbitt

Special Olympics teamed up with the Football Federation of Bosnia & Herzegovina and the family group OAZA to host a 5-a-side football competition in celebration of 2013 European Football Week. The competition which took place in Sarajevo on May 5th involved 14 teams from all corners of the country: Sarajevo, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Novi Travnik, Fojnica, Nahorevo, Zivinice and Pazaric. In the spirit of collaboration, newly elected president of Special Olympics Bosnia and Herzegovina Enver Cosickic, Federation representative Esad Hadzijusifovic, and OAZA’s Solaja Darko officially opened the competition together. The three organizations continue to work closely together to bring sports opportunities to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
