Special Olympics Athlete from Costa Rica

By Luis Alonso Muñoz Varela

For me Special Olympics program has been a great help to boost my self-esteem and I had the opportunity to participate in two international events the first in El Salvador in Latin American 2006 and I won two gold medals in 800 and 1500 meters flat, and the World Olympics Games in Shanghai, China in 2007, where I won a bronze medal in the 10,000 meters flat.

About Luis Alonso Muñoz Varela: In spite of being in athletics since 2002, I am currently in Caipad (an organization for disability). I wish the sun shines for all to complete the school and college studies. I am a very friendly person and an athlete.
