Unified Volleyball - Just as fun as the first time!

By Chris Parker Hunt

Our Team name was the "DC Stars"

My second round of playing Unified Volleyball with Special Olympics athletes from District of Columbia, proved to be just as rewarding and fun as the first time. We definitely had more time and space to practice all season and all of us improved. During the Summer Games opening tournament we won 2 out of 3 games – all against tough opponents and we walked away with 5th place participation ribbon. We will have to work harder to get the gold! One of the athletes I play with was featured on the local news…Check it out. Jerome is amazing! Can’t wait for next season when we compete again and hope to make it to the medal round!
