Family Day in Quito-Ecuador

By Carlos Lazo

On Saturday June 15th, we held our happy place "Family Day" in the vicinity of a prestigious school in the capital which attracted more than 150 people between athletes and their families. They shared a very pleasant time in which our champions and their loved ones could enjoy recreation, dancing to drums and trumpets with a "Town Band", listening and singing our famous "cumbias" by three acclaimed local performers and finally, all present had nutritious lunch served with the traditional soup and entree, a juicy roast chicken. All attendees were satisfied. The event began at 9:30 am and ended at 1:30 p.m.. There was lots of energy and an atmosphere of solidarity and cooperation between teachers, athletes and parents. At the end of the event all guests received a pink rose in memory of this moving event.
