This is serious work…Special Olympics athletes can depend on the support of the Lions Clubs of Malawi…” said District Governor Ndala. In the presence of Special Olympics Malawi Chairman Peter Mazunda, athlete Innocent Chilongo, and Lions Clubs District Governor Clement Ndala, the agreement was signed into action at the Lions Clubs Multiple District 412 Convention. The agreement creates the capacity for Special Olympics athletes to receive free follow up health interventions through Lions Clubs Eye Hospitals, an extension of the Opening Eyes vision screening. The agreement also increases volunteer opportunities for Lions Clubs members in Special Olympics Malawi activities, such as family health education seminars, sporting event, health screenings, and youth activation activities.
