Looking at People Differently
I never knew that having a younger sister with an intellectual disability and autism could be so hard for people to understand. When my sister was born I knew this was going to be a life-changer for me. It made me look at things so much differently. When my mom told me that my sister wants to compete in Special Olympics I became ecstatic. I tell her all the time that she can do whatever she puts her mind to despite all the kids that make fun of her in school. I am so glad that there are people out there that really care.
i am a big sister to two beautiful girls one of whom has an intellectual disability and autism. i love them both and wish that people in the world out there would accept these special children and people just as they would treat normal people. to me these people are just the same as us only they are very gifted and very special to us.
