Special Olympics Africa hosts its first ever Athlete Advisory council meeting

By Tsholofelo Mashuga

In September Special Olympics Africa hosted its first ever Athlete Advisory Council meeting as a follow up from the regional meeting. This meeting is all in efforts to give athletes the voice and to discuss issues on how the council will be structured, carried out and how other athletes can be involved in the committee. This meeting took place at the Special Olympics Africa head offices in Johannesburg, where everyone excitedly flew in to discuss athlete Unified ® competitions and athlete retention. This was a great meeting and the Athletes representatives look forward to implementation and great involved in the organisation.
