My experience with athletes at Camp Shriver

By Simphiwe Dludlu (Guest Coach - former National Team Player)

It was an amazing experience. Being welcomed with a smile - an athlete just walking up to you with a simple smile - that was my favourite moment. I think what was extraordinary was seeing kids with intellectual disability playing sports with such enthusiasm irrespective of their disability. They kept going and pushing themselves. It makes me grateful, I may not have a disability but the athletes inspire me to stay motivated. There was an athlete who had a problem with his leg which made it difficult for him to run but he played football passionately. Today was a true definition that impossible is nothing.
