The Opening event of the SE Young Athletes Programme in Estonia, took place on 10 January 2014 at Tartu kindergarten - for children with learning disabilities - „Nukitsamees“. It was carried through with active participation of family members. 13 little athletes started the sports-through-play programme with a joint dance, thereafter the children got the opportunity to demonstrate the overview of a 8-week-programme that is going to be continued weekly through the physical activity lessons of the kindergarten. It was like a party for families, staff members and other people involved. Special Olympics Estonia is thankful to all family members and the staff of the kindergarten for the most pleasant cooperation and extremely encouraging feedback!

About Tiina Stelmach: I am a Family programme coordinator whose responsibility is to recruite more families to the family and Young Athlete programme in Estonia. My everyday work is to develop different social services to children and youth with disabilities.
