Great memories of a slam dunk day in Milan for Special Olympics athletes and One Team Euroleague players
The 2014 Euroleague Final Four in Milan officially tipped off at the Piazza del Duomo, the city's historic main square, which served as the perfect backdrop for a unified match between Euroleague stars and Special Olympics athletes on the Fan Zone court. Special Olympics and Euroleague are proud partners since 2009. 20 athletes from Special Olympics Italia joined One Team Global Ambassador Kyle Hines of CSKA Moscow and One Team Ambassadors from three other Final Four teams. This event with Special Olympics athletes has become a tradition - to start Final Four,the pinnacle weekend of European basketball,with a celebration of the values of acceptance and inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities as embodied by Euroleague. Special Olympics athlete Michele Paleari was delighted to be on the court. "It was beautiful to be together with the Ambassadors and make laughs and play." Euroleague star Kyle Hines said "This means everything to me and I am always proud to be a part of it.
