Watch the European Games Opening Ceremony Live

300 x 200 Opening Ceremony Malta

It’s a ceremony that celebrates the courage and spirit of athletes with intellectual disabilities, and everyone can see it live online Saturday night. The Opening Ceremony of the 2014 Special Olympics European Games will be live-streamed on the official webpage of the Games and on the YouTube channel of Special Olympics Belgium on Saturday September 13th.

The 2014 European Summer Games will be officially opened by Her Royal Highness Queen Mathilde of Belgium at a spectacular ceremony to take place in Brussel’s EXPO, ‘Palais 12’, from 15.00 local time (14.00 GMT) on Saturday. The highlight of the Opening Ceremony will be the Parade of Athletes in front of thousands of spectators and special guests including Jacques Rogge, former International Olympics Committee President and Honorary Chairman of the European Games; Tim Shriver, Chairman of Special Olympics International; and Russian supermodel and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova.
