Austrian Sportswoman of the Year Inspired by Special Olympics

Austrian Sportswoman of the Year, Anna Fenninger, said she was honored to deliver the Athlete Oath at the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics Pre-Games Austria 2016 in Schladming, Austria on January 10th. “It is so inspiring to see how committed these athlete are to fair play while they pursue their goals. I wish them all continued happiness and success.” Fenninger is an Austrian World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic gold medalist. She is the Austrian Sportswoman of the Year, having won gold in Sochi and followed it up with a pair World Championship golds in 2015. The Pre-Games took place in Graz, Schladming and Ramsau. More than 1,00 Special Olympians from 22 countries participated in the event which included competitions in figure skating, speed skating, alpine skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and Bavarian curling.
