The wait is almost over! The final touches are being made in Austria to welcome 2,700 athletes from across the world to participate in the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games! The Games – which kick off with a spectacular Opening Ceremony on 18 March will broadcast live on ESPN – will be held in Graz, Schladming, Ramsau and Rohrmoos. More than 1,400 athletes from the Europe Eurasia region are gearing up with final training camps underway. There have also been an array of fantastic PR and awareness campaigns in many European countries with billboard, TV and newspaper advertising, as well as celebrity endorsements, adding to the excitement levels. The Winter Games offer a huge platform to showcase the power of the Special Olympics movement globally, said Special Olympics Europe Eurasia Regional President and Managing Director David Evangelista. "Our athletes, supported by coaches and our many sponsors and partners, are ready to show the world how unity and inclusion can be achieved through sport."
