Special Olympics offers training and competition opportunities in 30 Olympic-type sports for athletes 8 years or older. For children with intellectual disabilities ages 2 through 7, Special Olympics provides a Young Athletes Program. Special Olympics coaches have a unique opportunity to work with athletes in competitive situations to assist in their training for life. As a grass-roots organization, Special Olympics relies on volunteers at all levels of the movement to ensure that every athlete is offered a quality sports training and competition experience. Individual donors, corporate partners and many others make it possible for Special Olympics to offer children and adults with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy through participation in the program.

Amina Miladin
Special Olympics Bosnia & Herzegovina
Amina Miladin, Special Olympics Bosnia Herzegovina
Aminia Miladin of Special Olympics Bosnia Herzegovina.
Miladin's profile is reprinted from the Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia Athlete Newsletter.

"My name is Amina Miladin, I am nine and a half. I go to school and there are five of us in the class. I have a very good friend, there, Amel, who is blind. They teach him to be independent. I like to help him take a walk in the garden.

"One of my dreams is to play football. I am sure Amel would be proud of me. I already play with my cousin, but not ina real club. I would like to join a club because I would like to kick a ball during a match. I would like to kick it hard and I would like to score a goal!"
