Special Olympics Global Ambassador Zhang Ziyi, a leading Chinese actress known for her starring roles in Memoirs of a Geisha and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, visited Beijing Haidian Special School in March. She joined students in sports activities, including table tennis and bocce, and took time to learn more about Special Olympics athletes and the benefits of sports. Zhang said that, in her role as Global Ambassador, she would do her best to draw more public attention to the movement. “I hope to help people understand that we need to celebrate and appreciate differences. We all have worth, we all have value, and we’re all better off when we help each other out,” she said. |
