From 2-11 October 2007, almost 7,500 Special Olympics athletes displayed their skills, determination and courage for the world in the largest sporting event of the year. The 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games was not only a true world-class sports event, but also a humanitarian experience where athletes and fans came together for 11 days in an atmosphere of inclusion and respect for all.
