Special Olympics offers training and competition opportunities in 30 Olympic-type sports for athletes 8 years or older. For children with intellectual disabilities ages 2 through 7, Special Olympics provides a Young Athletes Program. Special Olympics coaches have a unique opportunity to work with athletes in competitive situations to assist in their training for life. As a grass-roots organization, Special Olympics relies on volunteers at all levels of the movement to ensure that every athlete is offered a quality sports training and competition experience. Individual donors, corporate partners and many others make it possible for Special Olympics to offer children and adults with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy through participation in the program.

Special Olympics tribute cards
Trying to find the perfect gift for the person who has everything? Why not make a donation in his or her honor to Special Olympics? Your donation shows your thoughtfulness while helping Special Olympics offer children and adults with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy through participation in the movement. In return for your contribution, Special Olympics will send a lovely personalized card informing the donor of your generous gift.

While Special Olympics has worked to improve millions of lives through year-round sports training and athletic competition, the movement is still affecting just a small percentage of the up to 190 million people worldwide with intellectual disabilities around the world. Please help us reach all those who can benefit from participation. Your willingness to support the Special Olympics movement will give these athletes the chance to make their dreams come true.
