16 Countries in the Biggest Floorball Tournament Ever

Special Olympics works in partnership with the International Floorball Federation to open more opportunities for athletes.

16 different countries played in the biggest ever Special Olympics Floorball tournament in Liechtenstein and Austria on April 24st - 27th 2014. The Special Olympics Floorball teams from Austria, Belgium Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Isle of Man, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine attended the Special Olympics Europe Eurasia tournament called the European Floorball Masters. The first day of the tournament started in Schaan, Liechtenstein, with divisioning where the participating teams were divided into four equal groups based on their skill level. Thereafter the teams played matches in Schaan and Lustenau during three days, which ended in the finals played on Sunday. Finland won the highest division final of the European Floorball Masters tournament. In the Sunday finals held in Lustenau, Austria, the Finnish team played against Sweden and won the match 5-2. Latvia took the bronze by winning Czech Republic.
