A Coach's Win

By Mary Lumsdon

Over the years of my volunteering time, I have seen the rich pleasure in an athlete's face when they learn that skill of improving their game. I have witnessed the look of defeat when they think that they have failed. I have embraced sheer happiness in the win. I have photographed the receiving of their medals/ribbons. I have captured the many smiles and the in-numerous hugs. I have felt the love of knowing that I have been a part of this time with them. It is me who is the true winner. Thank you Special Olympics for allowing me to be a part of this magnificent group of people!

About Mary Lumsdon: I am a coach for Special Olympics Indiana/ Gibson County. I coach bowling, corn toss, track & field & basketball.
