A friend of mine told me about Special Olympics Football. As soon as I heard about it, I knew this was what I wanted to do. I gathered a couple of friends, and we enquired about volunteering through email and Facebook. Special Olympics accepted us as volunteers, and we consistently went to trainings and games, getting to know the athletes at the same time. After 8th grade, I wanted to continue, and expand our service. I made a service club at school, and we started gathering new members. We continue to attend trainings and games, making a few friendlies of our own. Our goal as a club, is to create a relationship between Singapore American School (SAS) and Special Olympics. We hope a partnership with SAS and Special Olympics will continue, even after my friends and I graduate.
