Athlete, Unified Sports

By José Martínez Morote

My name is José Martínez Morote, I’m 29 years old, I work as a hinges and handles assembler, and in my spare time I am taking a maintenance course. I’m a Special Olympics athlete: football and athletics. I compete in FECAM, “Federación de Deportes para Personas con Discapacidad Intelectual de Castilla-La Mancha” (Castilla-La Mancha Sports Federation for People with ID). I have been in several clubs before, until I decided to stay in Club Deportivo San Ginés, as my friends and colleagues play and compete there. This year I have participated in a Unified Football-7 competition (3rd edition) for the first time. I participated together with my teammates in Albacete, where we got the silver medal in Level II.
