Changing Lives Exhibition at EU Parliament

A three-day exhibition entitled "Special Olympics Changing Lives" was held at the European Parliament from November 25 - 28 2013 with kind support from the European Union. The exhibition profiled images and stories of 28 individual Special Olympics athletes from the entire EU community, educating visitors on how Special Olympics is changing thousands of lives every day. The upcoming 2014 Special Olympics European Games which will take place in Antwerp, Belgium from September 9 - 20, 2014,was also showcased at the Exhibition. 2,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities, their coaches and family members will gather in Antwerp from 58 countries for competitions in 10 Olympic type sports. The Exhibition was officially opened by Belgium MEP Kathleen Van Brempt who announced that the European Union will provide substantial financial support towards the hosting of Antwerp 2014. The news was warmly welcomed by Mary Davis, Regional VP of Special Olympics Europe Eurasia.
