Europe-Eurasia Young Athletes Mentoring Programme Begins

By Maureen Clarke

This month sees the beginning of an exciting new mentoring programme for Young Athletes in the Europe-Eurasia region. National Programmes will be mentored by experts from across the region to assist them with the implementation and development of Young Athletes in their own country. The pilot will initially involve 10 Programmes and 3 expert mentors. Young Athletes is growing rapidly across through Special Olympics in the Europe-Eurasia region with many new Programmes taking it on each year. This new initative will ensure that each Programme has access to the help and guidance they need to ensure the success of their Young Athletes programmes. A sister initiative will begin next month for Family programme development across the region.
