Europe Celebrates 12th Football Conference

By Maureen Rabbitt

More than 55 Special Olympics football coordinators and coaches gathered in Warsaw, Poland last weekend to discuss and strategize on the development of football for people with intellectual disabilities. They were joined by representatives from some of the leading football organizations in the region including: UEFA, England Football Association and Belgium Association as well as top Polish club Legia Warsaw – all strong supporters of Special Olympics. The 12th edition of the conference is dedicated to Safety and Injury Prevention to secure a better environment, as a platform for the integration of young people with intellectual disabilities.
