Freedom to Move

By Victoria Smith

When I started with Special Olympics in Colorado I wasn't that fit and sometimes had a hard time moving. By the time I went to my first state games I had played two seasons of soccer. When my team had won our gold medals, I felt that I could do anything. Then I started golf. I got the movement back into my hips because of plates and screws. I was really proud of myself because I could do things other people couldn't do. With Special Olympics Colorado I got the freedom and confidence to move.

About Victoria Smith: I have a physical disorder that makes it so I can't play regular contact sports. I have surprised more people than I can count with my intelligence and how well I adapt to situations.
